South India Floods
During the months of November and December of 2015, the city of Chennai had rainfall “more than three times the average monthly rainfall of 353 mm (14 inches).” With a large influx of water, the disaster revealed the issues with drainage as the city went underwater and millions were stranded with no electricity and struggled to find food or clean water. Considering that this flooding has not received nearly as much attention as the Hurricane Katrina, I have included a video from CNN, reporting the events of the floods as they unfold.
